Harp and Bowl:
A muliti-denominational weekly meeting of intercessory worship and prayer. People from many local churches join together for Pray Monterey Bay Monthly prayerwalks to intercede for the Monterey Peninsula churches, pastors, and citiies begin at Lovers of Jesus Point in Pacific Grove at 9AM the 2nd Saturday of the month. We prayerwalk one mile to the Aquarium (Cannery Row) and back, a total of 2 miles. All who have a heart to pray for this area are invited to join us. Look for the Pray Monterey Bay sign on the pole at the assembly point. Our larger vision is to eventually walk sections of the entire recreation trail by the bay until we have covered the Peninsula in prayer. Sing/RingJoy!: REHEARSALS Sundays, 3:00-4:30 PM (September -May) Established in the Spring of 2002, is now in its 6th season. It has become a place of musical fellowship, with women and girls from different churches and all ages meeting weekly during the school year. Several mother and daughter teams sing together in SingJoy! Membership in SingJoy!: no audition is required, and you don't need to be a music reader or experienced choir singer. We are a teaching choir, so you will learn musical skills, as well as singing skills. If you can carry a tune, you can be part of SingJoy! If you are experienced, you can help to mentor others as we learn together. Our repertoire covers many styles and periods of music, both sacred and secular. If you missed our Sunday, May 9, 2004 Mother's Day Concert, don't despair! We'll be giving another one near Christmas. DVD of the concert is available. Contact us if you would like to purchase one. SingJoy! also performs in the community at retirement communities and other venues by invitation. Membership in SingJoy! New members are received at the beginning of each season (September and January). There are no auditions, and it is not necessary to read music. All that is required is a love of singing, and a commitment to one full season of rehearsal and performance. There is no membership fee. RingJoy! is, at present a handbell duet, which playes bells borrowed from cooperating churches, and performs by invitation. We are looking for a 3-octave set of handbells to purchase so that we may build a kingdom bell choir. HYMN SINGS WAM is planning a series of Hymn Sings, to be held in different churches on the peninsula, several times a year. We will be forming a massed choir to help lead these events, made up of singers from choirs and churches from this area. Even if your church doesn't have a choir, but you love to sing, you are welcome to participate. If you are interested in singing in the Hymn Sing Choir in October, send us your contact information, and we will let you know when the rehearsals will be and what music we will be using.
